There’s a great article on The Huffington Post today about the bullshit marketing of “30 Minute Meals” and the idea that people are just too darn busy to cook decent meals these days. Author Michael Ruhlman breaks it down plain and simple:
“Maybe you don’t like to cook, maybe you’re too lazy to cook, maybe you’d rather watch television or garden, I don’t know and I don’t care, but don’t tell me you’re too busy to cook. We all have the same hours every day, and we all choose how to use them.”
The idea of quick, easy and healthy food is not new. But how we have bought into the idea and how the idea has been sold to us is fucking pathetic. Ruhlman spells it out perfectly so I highly recommend reading the piece.
